Works with AutoCAD 2024 and newer, including AutoCAD LT 2024 and newer.
A full fire alarm set, riser to plot
Joe draws a complete fire alarm set in AutoCAD with CodeGreen CAD Tools, from the floor plan to the plotted set. This video shows what the tools can do. It is not a lesson in code compliance: the design decisions stay with you and your AHJ.
Built by someone who designs, not someone who talks about it.
Joe Montuori has designed fire alarm systems for more than 20 years. He decided what every command does, from the way he lays out and documents his own jobs: the riser that falls out of step with the plan, the cover sheet typed by hand, the data sheets gathered one at a time.
It's in closed beta because we want designers to run it on their own projects, small and large, and tell us what to improve. You stay the designer: check every layout against the code and your AHJ.
The core tools
Detector spacing and SLC wiring
Lay out detectors to NFPA 72 spacing, then wire the loop back to the FACU.
Risers and sheets
Risers built from your layout, with sheets and viewports set up for you.
Matrix and calcs
The fire alarm matrix, plus battery and circuit calculations.
Automated templates
Start every job the same way, with your layers, blocks and title blocks.
Sheet index and numbering
No sheet sets needed. The index keeps itself in order.
Keynotes
Clean keynotes without AutoCAD Architecture.
Runs in AutoCAD LT too.
AutoCAD LT 2024 and newer runs AutoLISP, so CodeGreen CAD Tools runs in it. For a small shop that only draws in 2D, LT is the more affordable seat, and you still get the same tools.
"I've designed fire alarm systems for 20 years. I don't just talk about it, I've lived it, and I built these tools around what designers actually need."
