Fire extinguishers

Fire extinguisher inspection software

Eight extinguisher types, each with its own service schedule, tracked per cylinder. Record what you actually did and the dates move themselves.

The cylinder type decides which services exist

An ABC, BC, Purple K, Clean Agent or Halon unit has a 6-year internal exam and a 12-year hydrostatic test. A CO2, Water or Wet Chemical unit has no separate internal exam — it happens at the hydrostatic test, which is 5 years, not 12.

In the office grid the inapplicable cell shows N/A with an explanation; on the phone it simply is not there. Filling down, duplicating or pasting a column skips the rows it does not apply to, so a 6-year date can never land on a CO2 unit.

Pressurization and shell material change the schedule too

A cartridge-operated dry chemical unit gets an annual internal exam instead of a 6-year. A stainless shell drops it to a 5-year exam done at a 5-year hydro. A non-rechargeable unit gets neither and is retired at twelve years. Two units of the same type can be on different clocks, and the app knows which is which.

A service log you correct by recording, never by editing

The service log on each row records what was actually done to a cylinder — annual maintenance, an internal exam, a hydrostatic test, or a recharge after use — with the date and the technician. Recording a service moves that unit’s dates for you, so you never enter both. A hydrostatic test resets the internal exam clock too, because the cylinder is opened as part of the test.

The log is append-only. A mistake is corrected by recording what actually happened, never by rewriting history.

Common questions

What is checked in the field?
Per unit: accessible, pin and tamper seal intact, pressure gauge in range, physical condition, weight and fullness, and inspection tag current.
What if a unit goes away for service?
It is tracked, and a loaner can be recorded in its place so the property is not left short while the cylinder is out.
Are serial numbers on the customer report?
No. Serial, manufacturer and model are optional and internal only. Make, model and part numbers never print on a customer report.

The other disciplines

One visit can cover every discipline the property has, each with its own report plus a combined one.
